My friend Lula and her boyfriend went skiing in Switzerland last April with her sister and her brother in law.Although the holiday was a laugh, the skiing part was a nightmare. It probably wasn´t the best time to learn because there wasn´t much snow.
They decided to take lessons before going to slopes. The men could already ski, although just a little bit, and could go to the intermediate level, but Lula and her sister started on the nursery slopes.
At the beginning, she was always falling down while her sister could ski a bit better. But then her sister crashed into a fence and Lula very worried, had to pick her up. This wasn´t easy because she had two big wooden things on her feet. After her sister had fallen several more times, she gave up and went into the restaurant.
Lula was more foolhardy and went up the mountain, her instructor told her to ski down, and after a couple of zigzags she took her skis and said:"That´s it, I´m walking".It took her an hour and half to get down. When she was very close to the end of her walk, she had to cross a farm where she was attacked by a dog!.Finally she got into the restaurant out of breath.
Surprisingly her sister, her brother in law and her boyfriend were comfortabily sat around the fire place with a cup of hot tea in their hands.

I was about twelve, the school holidays begun and my friend J.J had invited me and some friends to stay in his country house. I was absolutely excited because I knew he had a very big room with a lot of video games, a swimming pool and also a huge terrain where we could play baseball.
One day we agreed play football, J.J knew where was a place with football goals so we went there. We enjoyed a lot but when we was returning, it was being late and we running fast, suddenly I tripped with a stone in the road and I fell hitting my head on the floor and rebounding with it…When I could open my eyes I was standing on the floor and my head was blooding a lot.
After a few minutes I got to J.J house and their parents take me to the hospital and the doctor had to give me three stitches .
Finally I had headache for some days and a little scar for the rest of my life.

Several years ago when I was in South America with my husband and my little child, we've lived in a hotel for five months. In the courtyard next to the restaurant there was a small, aggresive and filthy monkey in his enormous hut. I've told to M., 'why A. (my son) and this aggressive monkey get on well? It's really strange, I can't understand it'.
We always were having dinner in the bautiful terrace of the restaurant and A. liked took his bottle walking near us. One night I saw petrified how my child was sharing one with the monkey. I shouted and ran in despair, I embraced him strongly and crying. M. was very worried about us and the other guests looked at me amazed.
Then I've found the explanation why the monkey was so affectionate towards A. Furthermore he was suffering problems of stomach in medical treatment. The next day I went to a doctor of tropical medicine to solve his problem definitely.
Fortunately my child had a right treatment and recovered, but I'll never forget that night and I can't stand to think about that horrible monkey. I felt awful!
I'm sorry about animal lover, I am too!

The worse nightmore in my life was when I was going to get marry in the summer of 2006. One year before we started to organize all things.
We were going to get marry in August, so in March we were going to buy the boyfrind's suit. We saw several shops finally he decided to buy his suit in "Dinovios".I never saw his suit but I knew that his suit didn't to be suitable.
Two months later he had his first try on. When we arrived to the shop and we showed our proof nobody knew about that. They spoke with the manager and the manager said us. "I sorry so much but it had a problem and the textil isn't still here, the textil lost half of way and nobody know where it was". We were much worry althought the manager said us: "you shouldn't to be worry about that, we have plenty time and I'll call us when the textil is here".
In the early June the manager hadn't called us and we decided to go to the shop, he said us:"the textil arrived but had a new problem and we had ordered more textil to Italy". My boyfriend couldn't speak and I was realy angry, the manager went on:"when the textil is here all my dressmakeres will make the work. The situation was really hard and we didn't know to do about that...----
In the end the 6 of August the textil arrived and the dressmarkeres worked whithout stop, the 10 of August he had the first try on and everythings was ok. Finally the 11 of August we got marry.

Be careful with children!

About twelve years ago I had a very sad professional and domestic situation. We had a familiar party on Sunday. While the BBQ was going on, we were having a drink and eating some nuts.
Someone, I don't know who was exactly, gave to the children a little bag of roast salted corn grains. Immediately and abruptly the bag was open and many hands were fighting to get some grains and rapidly put them into their mouths. They choked with the grains and began coughing but the grains were eaten and the bag was empty in few seconds.

Next day (Monday) in the morning my brother called me to tell me that his daugther - my niece, had been coughing the whole nigth and in that moment, the little girl had fever and expectoration. I decided to prescribe something like paracetamol and wait.In the late evening my brother called me again to tell me that Lorena was in the same situation or worst with high fever, cough and expectoration. We went to the Hospital and got one Thorax X-Ray of her. The image was very serious, the little girl had an abnormal image in her rigth lung like a pneumonia, but previously the girl was healthy, then it should be a recent problem.
In this situation I recommended a treatment with antibiotics and corticosteroids. The next morning the patient was a little bit better, the temperature was decreasing and the expectoration too. She had a better day. Next day a very curious thing happened. The girl was recovering, no fever, less expectoration. She had a cough access and then she got in her mouth something strange. A strange little brown round noodle like a grain of roast salted corn that she had aspired in a battle with other children to get the best. The treatment made an special effect to lesser the swelling produced by the foreign body and then it could be expelled easily by the cough. If not, I should have done more aggressive actions.

The evolution was fantastic. The next day she was asymptomatic. We went to the hospital and the new Chest Roentgenogram was clean without pathologic images. The problem disappeared and we all were very happy. The final diagnostic was: airway obstruction by aspiration of a foreign body.

Since then, I had never given nuts and dried fruits when in a family party and there are more than one child. This is a prevention measure to avoid problems like we had.

Hello Tony (Dr. del Pozo), I hope you are fine. Thank you very much for your fantastic lesson of medicine, I love it! (I'm sorry about what had happened, of course! but there was a great doctor in the family). See you.

Last summer, I have been in Barcelona for a week. I was on holidays with my girlfriend.

One day, the day before we came back, we were visiting a shopping village outsides the center of the town. Suddenly, I received a call from the hotel where we were slepping every night. The recepcionist said that we had to leave the room that day. I thought it was the following day.

The shopping area was one hour by train from the hotel. Imagine that. We were in a hurry waiting for the bus to go to the tratin station. Luckily, the train arrived on time and we could go to the hotel to pay the reservation. Then, we got a taxi to the airport.

Afortunately, my girlfriend and me enjoyed this holidays but we had left the city before we want.

I have a friend at University who didn't eat nuts. Since he was a child he had eaten a lot of nuts and always a spicy taste apppeared in his mouth, and his tongue began to swell. It didn't worry to my friend because he thought that it was normal.

One day, when he was 20 years old, he was eating with a good friend when he said that he didn't understand how people could eat nuts if they itched a lot. He loved spicy food but that it was horrible, and people ate without problems. Then, his friend said that nuts never had itched, and that happened to him wasn't normal.

So, this was the way how my friend discovered he was allergic to nuts.

A nightmare journey I remember was in 1999 at Christmas. It was my first Christmas hollidays at the university. I was in Granada and I had to travel to Madrid, I went with a friend in her car. I arrived to my aunt´s house and I had lunch with my family. I was waiting to my uncle who was coming in his car to go to the Madrid Airport, but he was on the largest traffic jam of the Madrid History, he came from Guadalajara but he could only do a few of kilometres.

So I had to take a train to the airport, but in 1999 there weren´t any underground to the airport, I had to take a train and after a bus to arrive to the airport. So I did it. My aunt said that I had to get down in one stop, but it wasn´t the correct stop. I was lost. A girl in his first journey alone with two bags and without enough battery in her movil, lost in Madrid. But I wanted to take my plane so I asked some people, I took a bus to the correct underground stop, and there I took the bus to the airport.

But the story didn´t finish here. When I arrived to the airport and found my uncle , who was very nervous because nobody knew where was I, we went to check in my luggage but there were over booking, and I didn´t konw if I had a place for me in the plane.

I the end I took my plane, but after some knocking in the queue. I was traveling from 7 a. m. to 12 p.m. I had taken four different transport in a day. It was too much for me.

Nightmare journey (INI -1)
Five years ago, another couple, my husband and I had decided to spend our summer holidays in Mallorca, so we had been making plans with them three months before it. We bought our trip by plane, our friends hired a car and finally we booked two rural houses in different parts of the island. We had organized to spend our first five days in the north and another five in the west of the island because this last place was near to the airport.
We had a good journey, our planes were on time and we arrived to Mallorca at 5:20 p.m., then we went to get our luggage … it was the beginning. Our baggage was missed so we went to an office and we made a complaint. That place was plenty of suitcases so we looked at each other and we felt very worried.
The man who was there told us “I’m sure your baggage will be here tomorrow”, so maybe you can go back next morning… Well, we were there without any piece of clothes and we also had to drive for one hour and half to arrive at our first house.
Next day we got back to the airport at 12:30 a.m , we went to the office and our baggage weren’t there, then a woman who was there told us “maybe tomorrow …” in that moment we were really furious, but we couldn’t do anything.
Instead visiting monuments in town, we had to buy some clothes, perfumes, shoes, mobile charger, … all kinds of things, so we also were really exhausted.
Every day on our four first days we went to the airport. In that moment we decided don’t go back to the airport, we forgot that problem and made some tours around the island, so we enjoyed our holidays.
Last day in the island we bought a suitcase; we made our baggage and went to the airport. Our planes took off on time and we arrived to Las Palmas airport on time, but we had a surprise there “our suitcase was missed”. It seemed a bad joke so we had to begin again …
In the end we had to make a new complaint at the consumer office, and ten months later the air company gave us some money as compensation because our second suitcase never appear, and our first luggage came four days after we get home.

It happened when I was seventeen years old.

A year before leaving school to go to college all high school students who pass this course can organize a trip for the end of the course. That was the rule.

It was the first time we traveled away from our families although in company by good friends. Thinking about that trip was very exciting for us.

But....we needed to start as soon as possible If wanted to make this idea a reality.

We had to work very hard during that year to get save some money for the trip.

We all decided to sell several numbers to participate in the raffle of a disckman and the break time we sold hot dogs and limonade too.

A month before the ending course, we were already prepared, all my friends and me talked with our families about our plans.

Some of them agree with it but others families disagreed.... my parents were one of them......aaaaaaaaaaaah,I could not believe it.

My mother said to me “the trip could be dangerous because we were very young to be alone for so long time.” But I thought we had worked and studied so much, it was not fair.

At the first I was sad but after I felt angry.

After two weeks trying to convince my parents they change their minds.

Just two days before the trip my mother bought me the flight ticket to enjoy my holidays with my friends.

When my friends knew that I was traveling with them were so happy as I am. These were the most wonderful hollidays I ever had.

The most embarrassing moment of my live was eleven years ago. It was in the hospital and I will always remember what happened that day.

This is the story…

My wife was admitted to the hospital because she was ill and she had been operated three times so we were in the hospital for some days. I don’t remember exactly how many days we were there, but I remember that I was very tired because I was all day at the hospital and at night I had and want to sleep there.
Mi wife was in a bedroom with three beds but that night she was alone in the room so two beds were empty. That night I was sleeping on the chair and suddenly I woke up, I was absolutely freezing and exhausted. It was approximately 00.30 am and my mind began to think, you are really freezing and exhausted, perhaps you could rest your head on your wife’s bed, what problem would it be? None. So I continued sleeping with my head on the bed.
At 01.30 am I woke up again; I had pain all my body especially my neck and my knees. Oh no! I cannot feel my legs! And, of course, again my mind started to think quickly, now more and more quickly, (think or not sleep!), you are alone with your wife in a hospital room, which there are three beds, the nurse has been in the room, at this time no one will come. If you lie in bed no one will know it. At this time of the night, the argument was clear. Why not? It was simple and…perfect.
This bed was more comfortable than my own bed; in fact, I thought that it was the best bed in the world and also I could cover myself with the blanket so no body would see me. Finally I was finding the way to sleep well.
Suddenly the light turned on. I was covered with the blanket, this was not a problem and, of course, nobody could see me. After a few seconds I saw a nurse who was with a new patient. She had the bed where I was sleeping. I said sorry and went home to sleep.
I had just felt the greatest shame of my life.

The last year I went with may family to “La Gomera” for the long weekend. It was absolutely fantastic for me and my wife, but very boring for our son at the beginning.
Our son was seventeen years old and we have never traveled together from four or five years ago, because every summer he has always gone abroad for practicing English or German.
We have searched a house in the country a long away to the towns or villages. Agulo was the village most near, eight o nine kilometers, the house was in the hillside of the ravine, the silence was absolutely and an atmosphere of peace and quiet, but our son was absolutely furious.
When our son went in to the house, he asked “Where is the TV?”, “My mobile don´t work” and “I don´t listening to the radio”. I don´t know Adrian, but we can read, speak, walk or sleep.
Every day, all the family traveled by car to know La Gomera and we walked in the Garajonay Park and the Cedro wood a lot because is the most beautiful of la Gomera. My son always walked with his hands in the pockets and his face had a blank look.
About seven in the evening, we were already at home and made dinner. After that we had a lot of time to do something (read, play cards, speck, etc) or to enjoy the loneliness and the silent.
I think that my son didn´t like the trip but I am sure that he will came back to travel with ours. When he arrived to Las Palmas he said “we had arrived to the civilization”. I understood him.

The disaster of the cookies:

Sometimes, when things want to go wrong, they will go wrong. This was happened to me last Thursday…
Last Thursday in the morning, I was thinking about waking up early to, with enough time, make a tray of cookies for my classmates in the School Run Language. So, the night before I put my alarm clock at 7:00 am, I didn’t want to don’t have enough time. Next morning, I woke up with the bip bip bip of my alarm clock, I had a shower and quickly I went into the kitchen. I had all ready: flavor, eggs, chocolate, almonds… so I started to make the dough, I mixed the ingredients relaxed while I was heating the chocolate to make the nuggets of the cookies. Time was passing and I, without hurry but without calm I continued. At 8:30 I had already the tray full of little cookies.
- I’ll go to have a shower, I said to my sister, look for the oven and the cookies.
- Ok, don’t worry, she said.
So I had a shower, I wore myself and I got ready to go to class. At 9:15 when I return to the kitchen, my cookies weren’t ready yet; they need 5-10 minutes more, at slow fire they were been cooked. My sister went out to work, and then I thought: “Uy, I don’t like this jeans, I going to change it. There’s not going to happing nothing for two minutes more…”
After that, in my room, 3-4 minutes later I felt a strange smell, and I said to myself: “I can’t belive it!” but yes, when I arrived to the kitchen, my cookies had all their surface black and they tasted burn.
At first I was very angry but later, like always, I have to give the reason to my mother when she said: “You’re such an indecisive person, you never are conformed, if this would be a important thing… what?” so Ok, of a bad experience I think I have learnt something positive: “I WILL NEVER WAKE UP EARLY TO MAKE COOKIES!”

A nightmare journey I remember it was five years ago. When I was going to Sweden with my children to visit my husband´s family.
When we were going to the airport of Comalapa, (San Salvador), we had a little problem because a rim of the car exploded, but my sister and I put the spare tyre.
It was so easy to put the spare tyre. We arrived to the airport on time.
But the big problem we had was at the airport in Cuba. We will never forget this bad experience because of the person who was at the check-in desk. He told me that we had excess baggage. But I knew that it was not true, because every person had the right to carry a suitcase per person.
I knew that he wanted money, Then he told me that I needed to pay 1000 dollars for the excess baggage.
I told him that I didn´t have a lot of money. “But he told me ok. Give me 500 dollars. And then he told me if you don´t pay me, you´ll miss your flight and you only have half an hour for your flight”.
I had to give him 500 dollars or else we would miss our flight. I was stressed because of the bad situation and we were afraid of missing the other connections of the flights.
After that, I thought that I would never of up in Cuba again. So we had to run to the metal detector.
Then my little son had a small accident on the X-ray machine. He put his hand on the machine and two fingers of his hand were broken, but the man stopped the machine, and in the end we caught our flight.

Nightmare journey

Two years ago I decided to go on the mountain with some friends. So, once we got there, the first days was all ok until we had in mind that should be interesting to take a walk in the forest and see animals in their environment. So we were walking and we saw a bear about 400 meters. The first we thought that the bear will run away to us but we stood in silence to see well what he was doing and how he was playing with something on the forest floor we didn’t move until he turned and left. So we calm a little and we continued the walk but after two hours we realized that we lost. We tried to use the mobile but there was no coverage so we looked around and we indented to remind things that could help us to get out from the trouble. There was no solution and we had to spend the night in the wood but we couldn’t even sleep frightened of the bear we saw few hours before. But the next day came a guide of the hotel where we were housed and took out from the forest. So this was a really nightmare journey because spending a night in the out here in the wood with all wild animals that could appear in any moment is a very bad moment.

Last Summer I went to Benicarló on holidays with my family: my husband, a sister and a brother, two nephews and a niece. We stayed in my uncle´s house near the beach a week.

The children wanted go to the aquatic park and we decided go to Aqua Natura and Terra Natura in Benidorm. We spent eight hours to go because we lost the route and didn´t see the map correctly.
When we arrived to Benidorm Terra Natura was closed and Aqua Natura was opened yet. Although it went to close thirty minutes later we bought the tickets for the children. They enjoyed but I don´t forget that day. It was fantastic.

The next day they didn´t want to go anywhere and we finished thinking about the next holidays.

A nightmare journey I remembered it was the last time when I went to Argentina to visit our family. When I was coming back to Spain with my husband and my two children we have a problem because we need the family book and we haven’t it.
The airport worker didn’t allow to board with our children. He pretended we went to the civil register for a birth certification, in this case we’ll lose the fly and we were really nervous. All the family was waiting for us to say good bye but we were very confuse for the situation. My husband said to me “Don’t worry darling this bad experience will pass”´.
But finally I phoned a friend who works how a secret agent at the airport and he ordered they permit to board
We fortunately could catch the fly on time
